End of Term is upon us once again, and this week is our last before break, which means...
Club tournament!
Who will win the prestigious AHFC Victory Pauldrons for next term?
Parents are encouraged to stay at the venue as spectators to this friendly event.
Normal start time - remember to bring water and your Grrr face.
Training breaks over the school holidays - please consult our calendar page for club closure dates.

Well done to our Girls & Junior Boys teams who are competing in the FSA School Teams League. The lads have crushed Pembroke in the first of 4 matches, and the ladies have 2 victories (Glenunga & ASC Diamonds) and one defeat (ASC Sapphires) so far, with 2 matches to go.
Keep up the good fight, kids!

Upcoming state comps are held at Scotch College, and you need to be there 15 minutes beforehand for roll call.
Make sure you check the equipment requirements on the Fencing SA website, and make sure you borrow the appropriate gear if you don’t have any.

You need to be affiliated with Fencing SA if you wish to compete.
Registration ($30) for Under 11, Under 13 and Novice comps.
Licence ($95/$110) for all other state events for those competing in national comps.
Affiliation is done online here.

Adelaide is hosting the Masters Games on the October long weekend! Updated information here, and more comp info here. You only have to be 30 years old to compete, and anyone can put a team together, you don’t even need to be from the same state!
ALSO
FencingSA are looking for volunteers for the fencing event at this year's Master games. 
As a volunteer you will receive some fantastic benefits including:
·         Uniform (including Polo Shirt, water bottle, lanyard and more!)
·         Meals during your shifts
·         Accreditation, which gives you access to all of the Games social activities
·         An invitation to the Volunteer Thank you function
·         Volunteer Certificate, Lapel Pin and invitation to participate in the Volunteer March of Appreciation

Please read this article about use of blades and wires at National comps especially Leon Paul blades.
Please note that (for all national competitions) gloves are not permitted to have any holes – meaning where your body wire comes through! This will need to be stitched up before the comp, or you may wish to purchase a new one. Speak to Dov or Spud if you are unsure on this ruling.

AFC 3 is in Melbourne, 28 – 30 August. Entries not open yet but the timetable is out, for you eager beavers out there.
Timetables for Junior Nationals and Open & Veteran Nationals are also out.

Finally, thanks to all of you who took action in and behind the scenes of the club after the issues of last newsletter were raised. Those of you who have recently joined us, please have a read, and help make this humble establishment great!
