Term fees are now due. Remember, if you received a 'Sports Voucher' through your primary school, you can redeem it against your term or annual fees.

Also note: Thursday evening training has been shifted earlier by half an hour. This is to allow better supervision during the free fencing time.
Please arrive a little before 18:00 to sign in and prepare for the glory of battle!

Entry registration via email:
Club members will receive automated reminder emails a few days before entries close.
Comps are $15 to enter (and $7.50 for second/subsequent comps on same weekend), and can be paid in cash on the day.

A bit of information about the comps:
Novice foil - open age but limited to people who have been fencing less than one year - this is measured from the date you were first affiliated with Fencing SA. Anyone who has been through an adult beginner course in the last year would be eligible, and encouraged to enter! Go beat up some beginners from the uni clubs!

Youth Intermediate Foil - fencers must be aged under 17 as of the first of Jan this year (so if you have turned 17 already this year, you can still enter). This is a new category this year, aimed at fencers who have been in our classes for a while, or come in for a bit of bouting, but aren't ready for the open-age-intermediate comps. There are ability caps for this competition (i.e. anyone in the Squad, or anyone who has made a top 8 in an AFF competition with more than 32 competitors) so it's designed to keep the better Under 17 fencers out and let others have a go!

3. Entries are open for the Robyn Chaplin Memorial Tournament, aka AFC 2.
This is an open national comp held in Adelaide over the June long weekend (6//7/8th June).
More information can be found here, and entering online can be done here. Entries close 23rd May.
This is the biggest event that FencingSA put on, and is a must see for any aspiring competitor.

Note: Leon Paul x-change masks will require the extra strap on the bib, as per FIE rules. If you do not have a strap on your bib and wish to compete, Jeff Gray can retro-fit them as a cost of $25 plus postage. Speak to Dov at the club for more information

4. Fencing is part of the Australian Masters Games this year.
October 3rd-5th (long weekend). This will be held in the Convention Centre! Anyone can enter, aged over 30 years. More information here and entries can be made here
There will also be teams events - if you wish to make up a team speak with Dov or Spud.

5. The School Team League is coming up later this term, and entry forms & information will be out soon. In the mean time, finalise your teams in preparation. Speak with Dov if you are unsure.
As the tournaments are held on a Thursday evening, the AHFC will be conducting special training sessions for the participants on Wednesday nights - 18:00-19:30 starting the week before the league begins.

6. Adult beginners have been curiously abundant recently!
With a few more we could run a special additional beginners group on Thursday night. So any parents who have been restlessly sitting on the sidelines watching their kids have all the fun, this is your chance! Also, any adult shaped friends you may know who might like to try an alternative and distinguished form of fitness, bring them along.
Course pricing will depend entirely upon numbers, but we'll need at least 4 more to get it off the ground. (Potentially) starting 14th May.

Happy fencing!
