National event news
The June long weekend (June 9 –11) sees Adelaide hosting the second open national tournament for the year, the Robyn Chaplin Memorial Tournament AFF #2. We’re moving from our usual venue of Scotch College to Immanuel College, and we need a big workforce to help with set up and pack down, as well as weapons check and scorers and timekeepers.Volunteer forms will be available at club training from Secretary.
The AFF has published the timetable for the National Cadets / Under-15s Tournament, scheduled to be run 3O June - 4 July in Sydney. See http://www.ausfencing.org/home/ for details. Entries will be called for shortly.
The Robyn Chaplin Memorial Tournament AFF 2 will be held at Immanuel College this year over the June long weekend. This is an advanced notice that entries for this competition will close on Tuesday 22 May at 5pm. The detailed program is available at http://ausfencing.org/home/. The Entry Form on the FSA website is being updated to reflect the $7O entry fee. Payment methods for this event will be posted soon.
On Sunday 27th of May we will hold the Kingsley B Thomsen and the Bruce Kneale Trophy Competitions. In recognition of the achievements of our dual Olympian Andrea Chaplin the Fencing SA Board has decided to name a new Trophy for Open Women's Foil in her honour. From this year on, the women will compete for this trophy instead of the Kingsley B Thomsen.
